I am a recipient of the Women in Engineering and IT Cooperative Scholarship at UTS,
which has granted me to opportunity to gain engineering experience with ASX, CUSCAL and Nine.
During my time at UTS I have also:
IoTBay
For my course on Introduction to Software Development, I worked in a team of five to develop
an online store selling Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Over 12 weeks I:
- Took on the role of team leader, organising weekly meetings, figuring out project deliverables and assigning tasks
- Conducted project planning, architecture, and design
- Implemented and tested the developed software application using Java
- Prepared a report and presentation to demonstrate our product and share significant findings
I earned a high distinction mark for the course. At its completion, I gained invaluable experience with managing a software team
and all of the important stages of software development from requirements elicitation,
planning, modelling, architecture, design, programming and testing.

The Luxchair
I completed a course in Design and Innovation Fundamentals where I worked in an engineering team to develop
a product to solve a key problem during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our problem area was based around working from home,
so we developed a desk chair to support ergonomic health in office spaces. As well as achieving a high distinction grade for the course, my learnings and achievements included:
- A new experience of working with a project team virtually and with a range of domestic, international, and overseas students
- Writing a report on the product design features, primary uses and market potential of the product
- Consideration of sustainability, manufacturing, and cost analysis for launching the product
- Gaining experience with AutoCAD software to develop a 3D prototype of the Luxchair product
