About

About Me

I'm a final year Software Engineering student at UTS with a keen interest in front-end development, web design and cloud technologies. In our digital world I believe in the importance of smart and intuitive design, and a smooth user experience when developing software.

As a UTS Women in Engineering Cooperative Scholar, I have previously worked at CUSCAL, ASX, WooliesX and Nine Technology in intern and part-time roles. These experiences have given me the opportunity to explore full stack development, DevOps, Google Cloud Platform, testing, agile development, and product delivery. My experience in agile development teams have given me a keen understanding and appreciation for iterative scrum workflow, collaborative teamwork, and continuous improvement.

I am passionate about mentorship and supporting women in STEM pathways. I volunteer at my university UTS as a Gender Equity Ambassador to deliver Engineering and IT programs to primary and high school students. I also work as the Partnerships Lead at Real Skills Education, a non-profit organisation aimed at upskilling, exposing, and connecting tertiary students to STEM industries and opportunities.

Intern Software Engineer | Feb 2022 - August 2022

While working at Nine Technology, I worked in the Productivity team which developed platforms and tools to support the work processes of the engineering teams at Nine. I was responsible for improving the service portal which was used by the engineering teams at Nine to track their designated projects and health (code quality) of their repositories. Streamlining this service enabled the engineering teams to easily check the health of their code repositories in order to make updates and improvements.

  • Developing team productivity and service health tools using Backstage.io, ReactJS and Typescript
  • Improving the UI and design of the service health portal to better represent information, e.g. creating a graphical component to display code health scores over time
  • Designing the a new component for the health portal and hosting meetings with stakeholders across engineering to gauge their opinions on design and desired features
  • Launching a new component which streamlined a team's owned projects, latest health scores and last updated times into a navigation table
  • Independently deploying software and reviewing code for fellow team members in an agile scrum team
  • Attended daily scrum meetings and hosted meetings on rotation, facilitating team discussion of updates or blockers
